Kaanapali Beach is one of the most well-known beaches in Maui.
Several condos and resort hotels line Kaanapali Beach. One of the reasons it's well-liked because the waves here are not overwelming, making it a very nice "family-friendly" beach. And the water is a crystal clear, light blue-green color that catches the eye and doesn't let go.
It's probably a good thing that we are as far away as we are in this photo (see below) - that pasty white skin will knock over any one not wearing sunglasses.
Since we are on the topic of skin, here is the Maui tip of the day: Always wear plenty of sunblock throughout the day while you are out in the sun. If you are swimming, reapply at least once an hour. Otherwise, the rest of your trip you'll be dealing with a nasty sunburn that could have easily been avoided.
There was no lack of fun in the sand for all of us. We also got in some great
sandcastle building
on Kaanapali Beach.
Take a minute if you'd like and go to our
Maui Vacations Video Gallery page
and scroll down to the Kaanapali Beach to view a short video clip of Kaanapali Beach taken during our 2004 trip.
And fun at the beach just wouldn't be complete without some good old fashioned sand hole digging...
or body surfing.
