Maui Airfare Specials

Tip 1: Frequent Flyer Carrier Credit Cards

A good way speed up the accummulation of your frequent flyer miles and get your Maui airfare special even faster is to apply for and use a carrier named credit card such as Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card. Most carriers have a card like Delta's and do not charge a yearly fee. Over the course of two or three years, those frequent flyer miles can really add up. The key here is to pay off the balance at the end of each month to avoid paying interest.

You also have to keep in mind that with airfare specials there are blackout dates that may apply to these such as traveling during certain holidays, so make sure to plan around that. You can contact your frequent flyer credit card for the necessary details.

If you're willing to pay a yearly fee, American Express (AMEX) Gold, Rewards Plus, and Platinum credit cards will also give you frequent flyer miles.

We've used the AMEX Gold Card (again, always paying it off at the end of each month to avoid paying any interest), usually accumulating about 75,000 frequent flyer miles over a three year period. This roughly translates into one adult round trip--a good start to a Maui airfare special.

However, keep in mind with the AMEX cards that their yearly fee to have the card and the separate fee to have a Frequent Flyer option with the card will, over three years, roughly equate to the cost of one round trip ticket to Maui. So, in effect, paying these yearly card fees and making purchases with it allows you to accummulate frequent flyer miles for a round trip flight without actually saving for it.

Tip 2: Frequent Flyer Programs

Utilizing frequent flyer programs are an easy way to get Maui airfare specials. If you fly often on a particular carrier, make sure you sign up for their frequent flyer program. Those frequent flyer miles can add up over time and help get you a free ticket to Maui.

Tip 3: Save Some Money

If you have the fiscal discipline you'll probably be better off by saving money the old fashioned way by putting some money away each month in a savings account -- especially in one that pays you probably the highest interest rate in the industry -- ING Direct. . This way you'll avoid the pitfall that far too many people get into that don't pay off their credit card at the end of each month. Don't get stuck with paying interest on the balance -- money that in a savings account instead pays you! We believe this is the most reliable of all Maui airfare specials and Maui travel tips.

Tip 4: Travel on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

Another easy tip for securing Maui airfare specials is avoid scheduling your flight to (or from) Maui on a weekend and stick to traveling, if possible, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Airlines will usually give you a better deal on those travel days.

Tip 5: Compare Carrier Flights Prices

When searching for Maui airfare specials it never hurts to compare which flights are the best value using companies like travelnow.com and priceline.com. Plus they'll save you some time too.
