Little Shop of Horrors Broadway Musical
July 7th-30th, weekends only. Presented by Maui OnStage at the Historic Iao Theater. About the show: “A down-and-out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. 1st Annual Legacy Concert featuring Keali'i Reichel.
July 22, 2006 at 5 P.M.. Presented by The Maui Historical Society's Bailey House Museum. Enjoy an intimate and memorable evening of music and dance featuring Kealii Reichel on the grounds of the Bailey House Museum, site of the royal compound of Kahekili - Maui's last ruling chief. Pupus and an elegant dinner will be provided by the award-winning chefs from the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. The event is a benefit for the Maui Historical Society's Endowment Fund. Henry Kapono

at the Castle Theater in Kahului. Henry Kapono’s “Wild Hawaiian” music has been getting rave reviews and creating a buzz around the islands with people of all ages and nationalities. His highly anticipated CD The Wild Hawaiian will be released this June, and Henry is touring with the islands’ best musicians and talent to bring a show that is innovative, powerful, exciting and alive. With his alternative/pop/rock arrangements and his band of power hitters, the music will Rock your World! This is Henry’s story of how he sees, hears, feels & lives his culture as a pure Hawaiian man in today’s world; Hawaii’s top slam poet Kealoha, will be joining Henry’s show in a hip-hop-ish way, communicating Henry’s interpretation of each song and what it means to him. Growing Dreams 2006 - Celebrations In Bloom
July 22, 2006 from 9 am to 1 pm
at the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea. One of the world's top floral designers will team up with leading fashion designers at the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea on July 22nd from 9 am - 1pm for the 6th Annual Maui Youth & Maui Youth & Family Services Growing Dreams event. Paul Miller, AIFD, PFCI, Nature's Flowers Creative Director, will present a floral design demonstration in this year's event titled "Celebrations in Bloom." Tiffany & Co., a lively fashion show featuring Tamara Catz, Tommy Bahama, The Enchantress, and jewelry from Tiffany & Co. will highlight the day, which also includes a silent auction and a gourmet luncheon catered by The Four Seasons Maui. Molokai Ocean Challenge
July 22, 2006

You can wind surf, kite surf, kite canoe or take a kite catamaran on the Pailolo Channel from Maui to Molokai in the Molokai Ocean Challenge. The 15 mile wide Pailolo Channel connecting Maui and Molokai is known as one of the windiest and roughest of the Hawaiian Island channels. This event is a benefit for Molokai’s “Youth In Motion” program. Relay For Life of Central Maui 2006
July 22 – July 23, 7 pm each night. at the War Memorial Soccer Field, 580 Kaahumanu Avenue, Wailuku. A fun-filled overnight activity that mobilizes communities across the country to celebrate survivorship, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and raise money for the fight against cancer. This is an American Cancer Society signature event. Inaugural Maui International Paddleboard Race - Honolua Maliko Run 2006

Coral Spawning Spectacle
On the evening of July 26, from 7-9:00 pm
, guests may be able to witness live spawning of rice coral in the romantic setting of aquarium after dark. The Coral Spawning Spectacle will include a special presentation on coral reproduction. Complimentary desserts and coffee will be served, and a cash bar will be available. The aquarium’s main exhibit, the Open Ocean Exhibit, will also be open, giving guests the rare opportunity of watching the sharks and rays during the transition from day to night. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children 3-12 ($17.50/$12.50 for members). Advanced reservations are highly recommended as space is limited for this special event. TangoFest Maui

O-bon Dance
July 28 – 29, 2006.

18th Annual Ohana Luau
July 30, 2006
4:30 to 8:00 pm at the Kihei Community Center. Presented by Hale Makua, a non-profit organization, this is their annual fund raising event. Enjoy a down-home luau, local song and humor, silent auction, and country store - all in a festive spirit of aloha and 'ohana. This years entertainment features Danny Couch, multitalented lyricist, musical composer, singer and performer, and winner of several Na Hoku Hanohano and Hawaiian Music awards. Also, Frank DeLima,one of Hawaii’s most popular, beloved, and award-winning comedians, and Kamakakehau, Maui’s hottest falsetto trio. Islands of the World IX Conference -2006: "Sustainable Islands"
Monday-Wednesday, July 31- August 2
from 8:30 am - noon, Castle Theater. Maui Community College is hosting the International Small Islands Studies Association's 2006 Conference — Islands of the World IX. Scholars and experts who study issues and problems on small islands will make presentations, lead discussions, and interact with international colleagues. The general theme of the conference is Sustainable Islands — Sustainable Strategies with emphasis on the interconnected topics of po`okela (economy), malama `aina (ecology), and ho`ohanohano (social equity and heritage.) In addition, the Islands of the World IX Conference will showcase Maui’s rich cultural heritage, strong economic factors, and diverse environment. FREE and open to the public.
