This is a photo of Honokalani Black Sand Beach, part of Wainapanapa State Park, and is about three miles north of Hana. Most of the beach is not made of sand -- it is actually small pieces of broken, smooth lava rock. 
Another gorgeous sunrise at Haleakala Crater (a.k.a. East Maui Mountain).
