With so much amazing and exotic food on the island our Maui Restaurant Reviews will leave you wanting more.
Our Maui restaurant reviews come from a unique perspective.
Keeping in mind we usually tote along many who enjoy grilled cheese over grilled steak, we've hit some of the funnest places to eat on Maui.
All of the restaurants we patroned were abounding with "Aloha" and everyone found something on the menu to enjoy.
Mama's Fish House
If you ask anyone on the island for a recommendation for a great seafood place, usually the first restaurant they will say is
Mama's Fish House
, and for good reasons. Mama's Fish House is located east of Kahului on Hana Highway at the 8 mile marker. Its popularity runs all around the island. The food was unbelievably good, the service impeccable, and the experience unforgettable.
One of our very favorites is the Hard Rock Cafe Maui. Although you'll find music nostalgia in each Hard Rock Cafe Restaurant around the world, there is an unmistakable island flare here.
With pineapple and ocean breezes abounding, the food at the Hard Rock Cafe (or HRC) is hard to beat.
My favorite is the Chicken Club Sandwich. It's about the best club sandwhich ever. The chicken is always tender and the bread is toasted just enough but not too much that the roof of your mouth is scraped to pieces.
Our boys love the kids menu and waver between grilled cheese and the cheeseburger as the favorite. Another favorite amongst "the brothers" (my brothers--that is) are the ribs. But anything on the menu is worth trying. Just be sure to leave room for dessert!
Another favorite restaurant we stumbled on is Cheeseburger in Paradise. If you need a spot to lunch while strolling down Front Street Cheeseburger in Paradise won't disappoint. The name pretty much says it all. A menu of All-American favorites served with french fries and an ocean view.
Cheeseburger in Paradise is a cozy two story building along Front Street so close to the ocean you can practically go for a swim while waiting for a table!
While the food and atmosphere is great we thought the speciality drinks (non-alcoholic) were some of the best we've had.
Luigi's was another great choice. We went here during our 2000 trip. It's on the right side of the road as you exit
Marriott's Maui Ocean Club.
Proximity is extremely important when you have a band of hungry people!
Delicious Italian was a fun way to change up the menu for everyone. Food, service and ambiance get two Big Toes UP.
Kimo's is another great place along Front Street in Lahaina. Although a bit more pricey, the Polynesian Chicken was fabulous! The menu features fresh fish and seafood, prime rib and Island Favorites (that's where you'll find the Polynesian Chicken).
This restaurant is also a two story building where the second floor seating is outside on a deck. It was like have a gourmet picnic on the beach--with a lot less sand! The view was amazing as the sun was setting.
Even at Kimo's you can still find a grilled cheese to satisfy the simplest of tastes.
And last but definitely not least, one of our most memorable places to eat was our family BBQ we had outside in the
Whaler
courtyard during our last trip in 2004.
We had mountains (or was it islands?) of burgers and hotdogs, lemonade and chips.
It was the perfect family gathering, complete with bubble toys for the kids and another trip to the Haagen Daaz store in the Whaler Village when dinner was done.
