Sandcastle ContestHaving a family sandcastle contest is an inexpensive Maui activity that is a lot more fun than you might think.
We were very proud of our efforts here inspite of the primitive tools we had to use. If I remember right (this was from our 2000 trip), we actually fought over who got to use the toy molds and utensils. I felt like they gave us a clear advantage until I saw the other team digging miles of tunnels and topped it off with a stolen flag! Who doesn't like to play in the sand?
We always have a blast seeing the creative lengths our family members will go to to win the Sandcastle Contest. Last year we tried to sculpt the clown fish Nemo but it turns out Disney and Pixar do it much better than we could ever hope. In the end, this kids beach activity is just good, clean fun for everyone.
